This is an “important recognition” for Terna, as pointed out by the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Luigi Ferraris. It further corroborates Terna’s firm commitment to sustainability, which is clearly expressed in the 2019-2023 Plan, featuring the highest level of investments in the Group’s history with the goal of accompanying the country in the energy transition towards decarbonisation.
Terna was recognised as an “Industry Leader” in the Electric Utilities sector of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the second consecutive year, and its membership in the Gold Class of global sustainability was re-endorsed in “The Sustainability Yearbook 2020”, the reference publication edited by RobecoSAM that evaluates the sustainability performance of the more than 4,700 largest companies in the world for the DJSI. This is the sixth time that the group led by Luigi Ferraris has been included in the Gold Class. It has featured on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for eleven years. The overall total score of 90/100 allows Terna to reconfirm its leadership among Electric Utilities, a sector with an average score of 45/100.
CEO and GM Luigi Ferraris, was very satisfied with the achievement of this umpteenth goal, which recognises “Terna’s ability to operate every day, combining value creation and sustainability in all its activities”. In addition to the DJSI, the Group is also included in the international sustainability indices Bloomberg GEI, Euronext (World, Europe and Eurozone), FTSE4Good (Global and Europe), STOXX ESG (Global, Environmental, Social and Governance), STOXX Low Carbon, ECPI, ESI (Ethibel Sustainability Index), MSCI, United Nations Global Compact (“GC100”) and the Italian FTSE ECPI Italia SRI Benchmark and Italia SRI Leaders indices, including only companies listed on the Italian Stock Exchange.
